This two-day workshop provides new insights into your own style of operating, so that you can use this information as a basis for understanding and giving you a greater range of choice in your leadership actions, reactions and interactions at work.
This workshop addresses Personal Leadership on our Leadership Competencies Framework.
Facilitator: Dr Michelle Shields
It is commonly said that one of the most important attributes of successful leadership is self-awareness. We need to know ourselves before we can credibly lead others. We need to understand how the way we behave impacts on the behaviour of people we are trying to influence and lead in the workplace. It is only then that we can help ourselves, our teams and our organisations to achieve optimal results. It is only than that we can truly lead authentically, naturally and with confidence.
In this workshop you will examine your leadership style through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), which you complete online before the workshop. The report provides insight into how you are likely to communicate, your preferred leadership style related to change and team management, and blind-spots to be aware of during times of stress. Self-awareness, when combined with acting purposefully and being mindful of the situation and people around you, is a powerful foundation for leadership development that continues throughout your leadership career - from leadership of yourself through to visionary leadership of organisations and communities.
We will particularly consider how we can use differences to achieve highly dynamic and achievement-oriented work teams through our leadership. You will leave the programme with a draft action plan for your leadership development, one that will enable you to lead with self-awareness, self-confidence and authenticity.
This workshop qualifies for NZTE's Capability Development Voucher Scheme.
