Through presented stories of past conflicts, and any participants wish to raise, we will look at the relationship between leadership and conflict management. There is a wealth of experience in New Zealand of leading people in conflict well and also managing conflicts poorly. In this session we will use our own experience and observations to see what both current theory and practical experience tell us will lead people through conflict to more cooperative relationships. We will discuss an approach for a hypothetical situation and consider the consequences of suggested interventions.
