The aim of this workshop is to enhance your confidence and skills in managing the performance of your people. The skills required to manage your people’s performance day-to-day and to successfully undertake the formal review process will be developed.

This workshop is highly interactive - you will be asked to share your existing performance management system and resources with the group.

The skills required to be an effective leader in performance management will be agreed, including writing and agreeing SMART/S objectives, asking questions, giving positive and negative feedback, managing your non-verbal communication, displaying empathy, listening effectively and structuring a meeting.

Through skills practice, activities and case-studies, you will develop the skills necessary to be an effective performance management leader.

Individual action plans will be agreed for the ongoing development of skills in being an effective leader of performance.

This workshop qualifies for NZ Trade and Enterprise’s Capability Development Voucher Scheme.

Target Audience

This workshop is for employers and leaders of people, including HR professionals, who are charged with ensuring that their employee’s performance is maximised.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • describe your organisation’s performance management system, including a description of the resources and templates available to your employees
  • understand the skills required to be an effective leader within a performance management system
  • confidently demonstrate the skills required to performance manage your staff on a day-to-day basis and at formal reviews.
