Gay Pavelka

Recommend Gay:

Profile

Gay Pavelka has mediated disputes in a wide range of fields since 1984 and facilitated or mediated public issues and environmental conflicts since 1990. Training people in negotiation skills, facilitation and conflict management is a core area of work.

Gay is the former manager of the Centre for Resolving Environmental Disputes at Lincoln University. She is a Fellow and panel member of AMINZ (Arbitrator’s & Mediator’s Institute of New Zealand).

In private practice since 1996, Gay provides mediation, facilitation and training services to a wide range of clients. These clients have come from the education, health, environment, local government, government departments, industry and commerce plus non-profit service providers.

In addition to her private facilitation/mediation practice Gay is a mediator for AMINZ in the EQC mediation scheme and will be a facilitator in the CERA Residential Advisory Services currently being established.

Gay believes sound decisions come from people with diverse views both listening for the best in each others thinking and challenging each others ideas. People often have the knowledge and desire to overcome disputes. Gay sees her role as assisting people to take a fresh look at what needs to be resolved and to find the appropriate methods to find solutions.
