Dr Lin Roberts is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the University of Canterbury, and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Lincoln University and holds a BSc (Cantab), BSc Hons (Victoria) and a PhD in Zoology (Auckland). She is founding director of a consultancy dedicated to sustainable development, and has been since 1994.
Lin's focus is strategic, helping companies to develop an organisational vision based on a shared science-based understanding of sustainability and providing a unifying framework that enables them to make strategic, economic and smart decisions that take them toward sustainability, not just away from negative impacts.
Lin teaches the MBA course 'Leading Sustainable Enterprises' at Canterbury and Otago universities, has developed Masters courses for Lincoln and Deakin universities, develops and delivers in-house training programmes for companies and central and local government organisations, provides sustainability gap analyses on products, services and organisations, and conducts research on sustainable business practice.
Lin has held science and public policy positions in a number of New Zealand government agencies, served on the boards of the Environmental Risk Management Authority, The Natural Step (TNS) New Zealand, and TNS International, and was Chief Executive of TNS New Zealand 2004-2007.
